Stephen has over 10 years work experience in Health Services Management, Health Systems Research and Health Policy.
Prior to his current position, Stephen worked as a Health Economist with the Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Ghana Health Service at the Headquarters in Accra. There, he worked as a health policy analyst and was the Administrator of the Ghana Essential Health Intervention Project (GEHIP).
He was also responsible for knowledge development and effective dissemination of the project findings to all stakeholders and the development of strategies for the possible scale-up of the project outcome.
Stephen also worked as a Health Services Administrator at the Central Regional Hospital in Cape Coast where he was responsible for general administration of the non-medical services of the hospital and also had some human resource functions of all support services staff of the hospital.
He is currently a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Development Economics at the Free University of Amsterdam/Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Legon undertaking research activities related to the research project “Towards a Client-oriented Health Insurance System in Ghana”.
Mr. Duku holds a Master of Science degree in Health Economics and Health Policy from the University of Birmingham, UK and an MBA in Health Services Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon.
